A little Sunday story...

I just wanted to share this morning's sermon with you...it was really good. It's from Romans 7, so be prepared - this is not a feel-good sermon!! ;)

I had a rough start to the day. I haven't been feeling well since yesterday and didn't sleep well, Stella was grumpy, I couldn't seem to find anything appropriate for church that actually fits comfortably (darn maternity pants are still huge), then went downstairs to discover the basement laundry room was covered in water with some poop floating in it. Yes. Poop. I had thought our washer was leaking on Thursday, but this morning realised it's actually the sewage pipe backing up and out the drain in the basement. I trudged back up the stairs to find Stella making a (relatively minor) mess with something I'd told her *twice* not to do yesterday, and just started screaming at her and threw the toy she was making a mess out of into her room. Jonathan actually heard me screaming while he was in the shower and turned off the water to ask what was wrong. So I started screaming at him, "I can't cope!! I can't COPE!" "Why not?" "Because there is POOP floating in the basement!!!" Not my finest moment.

Then I missed half of the service because of some things in the nursery (nothing to do with my angelic daughter this time) and came in just before the sermon feeling sick, tired, and frustrated. But God had good things for me. A sermon which filled me with gratitude to God, a beautiful adult baptism (though I think all baptisms are beautiful!), and of course the Lord's Table, which always feeds my soul. And the joy of watching Stella and Ani (Stella's best buddy) dancing with abandon together during the closing song.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my little Sabbath story. And the moral is: We're not perfect, we need Jesus, and He is faithful! The end. :)

And finally, on to the point of this post:
