I realise Maggie has been rather neglected on this blog. Part of the problem is that I am often holding her when I've got the camera out and so I don't get as many pictures of her as I do of Stella. So if you've been feeling the lack of Maggie-ness around here, this post is for you!
When I think about Maggie, I think about how much JOY she brings into our lives. She is our sunshine. We all light up when she is around, Stella included. We adore her. She is truly the most wonderful baby EVER. I know some of my friends have little cutie pies, but I'm telling you, Maggie is the whole package. She is so adorable it hurts, and she is the sweetest thing in the entire world. (And no, I am NOT exaggerating, thankyouverymuch.) She is a good sleeper, only waking once most nights, sometimes sleeping all the way through. She occasionally has "one of those nights", but it's usually for a recognisable reason, which makes it easier to bear. She has all sorts of nicknames around here, including Miss Margaret, Mags, Maggie Moo, and Maisie.
This week she has learned how to crawl. She's still pretty slow, but she figured out she can follow me around, which she likes to do. So far she hasn't noticed the fact that we have THREE sets of stairs in our house, which is good. (Note to self: find baby gate!!) She also seems to be teething right now, and has had a temperature and been a pathetically sad little monkey the past few days. So far no teeth have shown themselves. She loves to stick her tongue out. She LOVES when her sister is around, and sometimes they will sit and imitate each other for quite a while (which is cute if they're making silly faces, not so cute if they're screeching...). She also loves her daddy, and will often let him put her to sleep (which Stella never did). She loves to give big slobbery open-mouth kisses, and to stick her paci in your mouth. She is and always has been a big snuggler, and what mother doesn't love a snuggly baby? It melts your heart. She's also pretty chatty, encouraged by her sister of course. She has figured out that she has to be loud in order to be heard above Stella, who has no concept of "quiet" and talks nonstop from sunup to sundown. She is pretty tolerant when Stella loves on her a little too hard, and Stella is pretty tolerant when Maggie grabs a fistful of her hair. So they get along pretty well at this point.
And now, some pictures and videos. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a very good video of her crawling yet. I have 4 or 5 videos of me going, "Come on Maggie, you can do it....come on....you just crawled....oh come on..." and Maggie just looking at me with a big grin on her face.

I'm going to crawl!

Fooled you! I rolled over instead!

Let me help you with that camera, Mom...

This one cracks me up every time...
Tongue!
PS Can you tell things are going better than when I last posted? ;)

Ah, candy for the eyes! Love those pics and videos. You used to stick your paci in my mouth too :). I'm happy you're doing much better...

yeay for all about Maggie! She is sure a cutie!
Where to start with my comments? I love this post all around, especially the videos. What a great "journal" to have for the future to look back and remember what you were enjoying about her during this time in her life, too. And as you know, we all love Maggie, too. Especially Ande, I think. ;)
I'm so glad I saw this link pop up in my fb feed. In the back of my mind I knew you had a blog but I'd never gotten it bookmarked so I hadn't been reading it. That has now been remedied.
Oh, and back to Maggie, to show you how highly we think of her, I'll share a quote from a recent e-mail Arthur sent me where he was encouraging me about some recent struggles we've been having with Caleb:
"I think I may also start praying that God might reserve a 'Maggie Hays' for Caleb's sibling." :)
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! I was in need of some new Maggie pics!
The 2nd daughter always is the most well-behaved child, you know. ;)
I think "ladl-ladl-ladl" means " I want to visit Aunti Anna" in Maggie-speak.
