We had a lovely, quiet Christmas. After being snowed in for what felt like FOREVER we made it out to church on Christmas Eve (kinda had to be there as Jonathan was leading the service!). After the service we invited a bunch of people over and ate yummy food and drank yummy drinks and just enjoyed our lovely friends. We had about 20 people over, which is pretty much the most we could fit! It was so nice to have everyone over. We hadn't really had people over since Maggie was born, and I think we all missed it. We all stayed up way past our bedtime.
The next morning, Christmas morning, we all slept in - yay!! Perfect! We had a leisurely breakfast and eventually opened our presents. We had planned to head to Jonathan's parents' house around lunchtime, but instead there was snow, snow, and more snow. So we stayed in our pajamas all day and watched movies and snacked and were generally lazy. It was just great.
I decided to just put the pictures from Christmas up on flickr, because there were too many to really post here, and it's probably only the grandparents and Auntie Anna who really care about them anyway. :) You can find them here. (They are all of Stella. Naturally.) And here are a few Christmas pictures for the rest of you.

Snow! I know this doesn't look that impressive, but remember, this is Seattle. We don't do snow.

We went to Jonathan's parents the next day instead. But first we stopped at the Pancake Haus in Edmonds for breakfast. Yum!

I love pancakes!

More presents from Grandma and Grandpa!

I'm cute too!
New Year's was nice and quiet as well. We had pizza and watched Wall-E, which we all enjoyed. Stella kept calling him "golly wally". :) Then Stella went to bed and Jonathan and I watched Starter for 10. We switched over to regular TV around 11:55 to watch the ball drop, only the local channels didn't seem to be showing it. So we watched the fireworks at the Space Needle, complete with random musical accompaniment. About the time they started playing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", we decided we couldn't take any more cheese and went back to our movie. We did have a champagne toast though, which was lovely, and I can happily say there is no one else I'd rather kiss on New Year's Eve. :)
And now it is 2009. Hard to believe. I haven't made any resolutions. I never keep them anyway. Maybe a resolution to stay up late and stay perpetually behind on the laundry? ;)
Stayed tuned for pictures of Stella's new haircut...

Those are some great pictures! They made me cry...as usual! I never remember snow like that when I was growing up.
We watched Wall-E too - it was very cute! I'm still recycling.
Miss you all.
